Zusammenfassung

Die Sklerosierungsbehandlung blutender Oesophagusvaricen wurde bereits 1939 von Crafoord u. Frenckner [4] erstmals beschrieben und später auch von anderen Gruppen propagiert [13, 16, 21]. Anerkennung und weltweite Verbreitung fand diese Therapie aber erst in den letzten Jahren, nachdem kontrollierte Studien Nachteile und Grenzen prophylaktischer [9, 22] und therapeutischer [10, 22, 23] Shuntoperationen aufgedeckt haben.
