Zusammenfassung

Bei der Gastritis sollte eine akute Form, die mehr oder weniger von klinischen Symptomen geprägt ist und bei der sich pathologisch-anatomisch allenfalls erosive Oberflächendefekte nachweisen lassen, von einer chronischen Form unterschieden werden, die irreversibel ist und im Verlaufe von etwa 20 Jahren aus einer Oberflächengastritis in eine chronisch atrophische Gastritis mit oder ohne intestinale Metaplasie übergeht. Eine akute Gastritis geht nicht in eine chronische Form über, sondern heilt bei Wegfall der Noxe innerhalb weniger Tage aus.
