Zusammenfassung

Von breiten Teilen der Ärzteschaft und auch der gesamten Bevölkerung werden psychischen Faktoren eine gewichtige Rolle bei der Entstehung, dem Manifestwerden und der Aufrechterhaltung von Ulcera des Magens und des Duodenums beigemessen. Das „Ulcus“ gilt als eine der klassischen psychosomatischen Krankheiten. In Uexkülls „Lehrbuch der Psychosomatischen Medizin“ [48] heißt es über das Ulcus duodeni, daß bei dieser Krankheit „die psychosomatischen Zusammenhänge… besonders gut erforscht wurden, und… man hier Konzepte entwickeln und empirisch nachprüfen konnte, die einen exemplarischen Charakter für die Beziehungen zwischen somatischen, psychischen und sozialen Faktoren haben.“
