Abstract
Tumor-like conditions can be defined as conditions which macroscopically and/or microscopically may appear as neoplasms but are not truly neoplastic. The World Health Organization (WHO) classification includes such a category [24], which is enlarged upon in this presentation as follows:
-
1.
Solitary follicle cysts and corpus luteum cysts
-
2.
Solitary luteinized follicle cysts of pregnancy and puerperium*
-
3.
Multiple luteinized follicle cysts and/or corpora lutea
-
4.
Pregnancy luteoma
-
5.
Stromal hyperplasia and hyperthecosis
-
6.
Polycystic ovaries
-
7.
Surface-epithelial inclusions and cysts
-
8.
Unusual mesothelial inclusions*
-
9.
Surface papillary structures*
-
10.
Endometriosis
-
11.
Massive edema
-
12.
Simple cysts
-
13.
Inflammatory lesions
-
14.
Hilus cell hyperplasia*
-
15.
Splenic-gonadal fusion*
-
16.
Ovarian pregnancy*
-
17.
Torsion of the normal ovary and tube*
-
18.
Parovarian inclusions and cysts
-
19.
Hyperplasia of tubal epithelium*
-
20.
Two further types of epithelial inclusions*
