Abstract

If conservative therapeutic measures do not lead to a cure of subacute-to-chronic inflammatory disease of the maxillary and frontal sinuses, operative therapy is unavoidable. However, it may be difficult to decide on the basis of the roentgenogram, especially following irrigation, whether an inflammatory process has been arrested, when the typical complaints are lacking.
