Zusammenfassung
Die Geburtseinleitung mit oral applizierbaren Wehenmitteln ist neben der Amniotomie, die zuerst von Soranus 100 n. Chr. detailliert beschrieben wurde, die älteste bekannte wirksame Methode zur Wehenauslösung. Die pharmakologische Analyse überlieferter Kontraktionsmittel ließ jedoch bis zur Einfuhrung von Mutterkornpräparaten im 17. und 18. Jahrhundert keine uterusspezifischen Drogen und Extrakte erkennen (1, 16).
