Abstract
For the recognition of cystic intracranial abnormalities, CT has made it possible to avoid invasive procedures such as pneumoencephalography, ventriculography and angiography. Moreover it provides more precise information than the invasive methods regarding anatomical relationships of those lesions. Whenever necessary, CSF enhancement by intrathecal metrizamide can be performed in order to narrow the differential diagnostic possibilities and to complete information needed for pretreatment and preoperative planning.
