Abstract

In the large clinical BG Accident Unit Frankfurt/Main, there were among 569 injuries to the vertebral column 179 fragment fractures and fracture dislocations. To this group, 233 compression fractures with involvement of the inter-vertebral disc are added and so 412 cases of vertebral column trauma are to be considered, which are unstable and a threat to the spinal cord.
