Zusammenfassung
Pharmakokinetische Analysen stehen bei Anästhesisten hoch im Kurs, versprach (und verspricht) man sich davon doch eine Verbesserung sowohl der Narkoseführung als auch der Abschätzung postoperativer Gefahren. Hinsichtlich der Opiate müssen heute jedoch zwei Erfahrungen diese Begeisterung dämpfen:

— Zum einen halten sich die wenigsten Patienten an vorausberechnete Werte (Problem der biologischen Variabilität),
-
— zum anderen korrelieren die meßtechnisch relativ einfach zugänglichen Blutkonzentrationen nur selten direkt mit dem zentral vermittelten Effekt (Problem der Rezeptortheorie).
