Abstract

Interdisciplinary meetings are nowadays quite fashionable, but bringing together scientists from different disciplines does not necessarily guarantee the success of such a meeting, for instance, in the sense that a new coherent idea emerges. Therefore a few words might be in order for those readers who are not familiar with the aims of synergetics or a meeting on this topic.
