The Antianginal Efficacy of Seven Different Calcium Antagonists

Abstract

Experience with calcium antagonists in the treatment of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) has been restricted essentially to verapamil. It is not known whether other agents with calcium antagonistic properties may exert comparable effects. The evaluation of such drugs in patients with HCM is difficult. Comparison of different calcium antagonists, however, is possible in respect to the antianginal activity [1, 3, 4, 6, 13, 16, 18, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26].
