Abstract
In attempting to evaluate the infertile male the first problem is the definition of infertility. We must recognize that with the current state of our knowledge no clear definition exists. We know that oligozoospermia, a term used to denote a low sperm count, means different things to different people. If oligozoospermia means a sperm count of less than 40×106/ml in one center and less than 20×106/ml in another, how then can we agree that treatment is appropriate let alone effective?
