Dynamic Behaviour of Polymerization Reactors

Abstract

The dynamic behaviour of polymerization reactors is very interesting and complex. The possibilities for reactor runaway, multiple steady states, and autonomous oscillations cause both reactor and control system design to be especially difficult. This paper provides a brief survey of the scope of the field and discusses the recent literature. Specific polymerization processes are used to illustrate the key issues.
