Zusammenfassung
Das Reticulo-Endotheliale System (RES) stellt einen wesentlichen Teil des unspezifischen Immunsystems dar. Es hat eine wichtige Funktion bei der Beseitigung korpuskulärer Fremdelemente aus der Blutbahn (Bakterien, Fibringerinnsel, Tumorzellen u.a.).Seine Beeinflussung durch Anaesthesieverfahren verdient Beachtung, weil eine Hemmung dieses Systems den Patienten in erhöhtem Maß empfindlich macht gegen eine operationsbedingte Ausschwemmung von Tumorzellen oder Bakterien.
