Assessment of Aortocoronary Bypass Graft Patency by Means of Thallium-201 Myocardial Scintigraphy

  • Conference paper
Cardiovascular Surgery 1980

Abstract

Coronary angiography is generally accepted as the most reliable method to assess aortocoronary bypass graft patency. But since it is an invasive method, several attempts have been made to look for a noninvasive method of sufficient accuracy. Recent studies on the use of thallium-201 myocardial scintigraphy for assessment of bypass graft function have yielded conflicting results (2, 4, 5, 8, 10–13). This study, based on a series of 50 unselected patients, will contribute to the problem of how far myocardial scintigraphy can be used to predict bypass graft patency.
