Abstract

The rainfall in Shanghai is abundant, amounting to 500 mm during the growing season of wheat, barley and naked barley. The waterlogged condition of the cultivated horizon of paddy soils is a grave obstacle to a high and stable yield of wheat, barley and naked barley.
