Pathogenesis of Shock-Induced Pulmonary Fibrosis in Man as a Model of Proliferative Inflammation

  • Conference paper
Arthritis

Abstract

The condition of “shock lung” reveals its onset in exudative alveolitis followed by proliferative inflammation and ends in alveolar fibrosis. The extent to which the shock-induced lesion proceeds in the lung parenchyma depends on simultaneously occurring reparative and destructive processes.
