Abstract
When the system under study contains hot atoms with an initial energy E0 in a thermal environment composed of one or more components, the hot atoms lose energy by collisions with all of the components. Below a maximum energy E2 and above a threshold energy E1, some fractions of the hot atoms may react on collision with one or more components to enter a chemical combination and thus be removed from the system.
