Abstract

Chemical reaction systems are usually described by a master equation for the probability density P(Ni,t) to find Nj particles of a certain species in a certain spatial cell, both characterized by i. This description takes care of all fluctuations due to reactions as well as to diffusion.

The lecture is based on work done together with Rudi Schranner and Peter H. Richter [1], [2].
