Abstract
Recent clinical trials have demonstrated the efficiency of the oral aromatic retinoid Ro 10-9359 (etretinate) in the treatment of severe psoriasis, ichthyosis and other keratinization disorders. Possible long-term hazards of the retinoid therapy, which at the moment are almost entirely unknown, should be thoroughly investigated and clearly defined, before the drug is introduced on a large scale.
