Retinoids

Abstract

The ultrastructural investigations carried out up to now with traditional techniques in psoriatic epidermis after oral administration of the aromatic retinoid Ro 10-9359 (7) have shown three prominent fine structural changes: enhanced inflammation with some cell degeneration in the malpighian layer, extracellular accumulation of mucus-like material, reappearance of keratohyalin granules, but they have failed to allow any study of the inner structure of plasma membranes.
