Abstract
Since its introduction in 1975 by Ott and Bollag (7), the use of the new aromatic retinoid Tigason (Ro 10-9359) for the treatment of psoriasis has been well documented. This drug appeared to be highly effective, in the first place against psoriasis pustulosa and erythrodermatic psoriasis (4) and also, although to a lesser degree, against psoriasis vulgaris. In the latter condition the therapeutic ratio of the aromatic retinoid was found to be enhanced by combining the drug with other types of psoriasis therapy such as PUVA (2, 5), dithranol (3, 4), and selective ultraviolet therapy (10).
