Zusammenfassung

Die Art und Weise, auf die man CODASYL DBMS in Komponenten aufteilt ist von Implementierung zu Implementierung unterschiedlich. In einigen Fällen ist dies lediglich ein terminologischer Unterschied, in anderen Fällen ist er fundamentaler. Aus Referenzgründen werden die 5 Hauptkomponenten wie folgt bezeichnet:

    Subschema Datenbeschreibungssprache (Subschema Data Description Language)

    Datenmanipulationssprache (Data Manipulation Language)

    Datenbank — Kontrollsystem (Data Base Control System)

  5. 5.

    Gerätekontrollsprache (Device Media Control Language)
