Zusammenfassung
Die Indikation zu einer Nierentransplantation ist potentiell bei jedem dialysebedürftigen, terminalen Nierenversagen gegeben. In aller Regel wird dieses Stadium, d.h. der Beginn der Dialysebehandlung, abgewartet, bevor die Indikation zur Nierentransplantation diskutiert oder gestellt wird. Nur in besonderen Situationen (z.B. bei Diabetes mellitus oder bei Kindern, s.S. 369 ff. und S. 697 ff.) kann eine Transplantation auch vor der absoluten Dialysenotwendigkeit bereits im präurämischen Stadium angebracht sein.
