Therapeutic Plasma Exchange

Abstract

Therapeutic plasma exchange, a new tool for selective treatment of patients suffering from immunologically mediated diseases as well as from a variety of endogenous and exogenous intoxications has gained wide-spread interest in recent years. Numerous publications until the end of 1980 reflect a steadily increasing experience and an interdisciplinary flow of know-how which will enhance further development and clinical application of plasma exchange therapy.
