Zusammenfassung
Vor der Betrachtung des Heute und Morgen ist der Blick zurück vielleicht doch lehrreich. Einerseits distanziert er, andererseits zeigt er uns, wie lange grundsätzliche Möglichkeiten der Diagnostik und Therapie nicht erkannt wurden, bis dann einem einzelnen ein Licht aufging. Die heute beliebte These, wonach der einzelne am Fortschritt wenig Anteil habe, weil die Entwicklung in der Luft liege, weil der Zeitpunkt der grundsätzlichen Entdekkung gekommen sei, ist jedenfalls für die Entwicklung der elektrischen Maßnahmen im Rahmen der Diagnostik und Therapie der Herzerkrankungen nicht haltbar, wie ich wohl zeigen kann.
