Crystallinity of Tissue Mineral Deposited in the Course of Biomineralization Processes

The mineral deposited in tissues of all mammalian species in the course of physiological and some pathological processes consists mainly of calcium phosphates with the admixture of carbonates (4–6% by weight) and with traces of such ions as K, Na, Mg, F, Cl (Armstrong and Singer 1965; Elliott 1973).
