Contrasted Occurrence of Eodevonian Stromatolites, Northeastern Armorican Massif, France

Abstract

While revising the Devonian System of the N.E. Armorican Massif, France (Fig. 1) stromatolitic units were first reported by the author (Poncet 1964) in Eodevonian strata (Formation of the Schistes et Calcaires de Nehou, Middle Siegenian in age). Three main types of stromatolites were recognized and will be described here.
