Abstract

Most acute gastrointestinal diseases requiring urgent surgical intervention can be identified preoperatively by following a systematic procedure [2, 9, 11, 15, 23]: Family History. Familial diseases (e.g., cystic fibrosis, Hirschsprung’s disease), hydramnios.
