„Ohne Säure kein Ulcus“ (Schwarz 1910) — diese lapidare Feststellung ist alt, aber wahr. Sie gilt auch für das Anastomosenulkus, das sich nur entwickelt, wenn im Magenstumpf noch relativ zu viel Säure gebildet wird. Es sind häufig diagnostische Fehlleistungen vor, oder operationstechnische Mängel bei der Primäroperation, die das Auftreten von Anastomosenulzera begünstigen.
