Zusammenfassung
Die Einführung neuromuskulär blockierender Substanzen in die klinische Praxis ist einer der größten Fortschritte in der Entwicklung der Anästhesiologie. Mit der allgemeinen Aufnahme dieser Substanzen entwickelte sich sowohl die Grundlagenforschung als auch die klinische Untersuchung stürmisch und die Zahl der untersuchten Substanzen wurde ständig größer. Auch die Qualität der Untersuchungen nahm rasch zu, als die Technologie differenzierter wurde. Die Kenntnis über die grundsätzlichen Zusammenhänge einer sinnvollen klinischen Anwendung der Muskelrelaxanzien nimmt immer noch zu.
