Zusammenfassung
Entstehung und Wachstum des Tumors führen zu tiefgreifenden Veränderungen im Organismus des Kranken. Die Ursachen hierfür sind eine Zerstörung funktioneller Gewebe, eine durch Obstruktion, Malabsorption oder Anorexie verminderte Aufnahme von Nährstoffen, sowie ein gestörter Stoffwechsel durch eine Über- oder Unterproduktion von Hormonen oder die Bildung von Tumortoxinen. Ein Symptom dieser Tumoraggression ist eine Verarmung des Organismus an bestimmten Bestandteilen des Struktur- und Energiestoffwechsels, als dessen Folge die Morbidität des Tumorpatienten ansteigt und durch verminderte Toleranz gegenüber aggressiven Therapiemaßnahmen bei herabgesetzter körpereigener Abwehr die Überlebenszeit verkürzt wird [8].
