Abstract

Chemical modification of polymers with the aim of imparting specific, desirable properties is one of the main directions of development in modern macro-molecular chemistry. Recently, this approach to tailor-made materials has been successfully applied to synthetic as well as natural polymers in many laboratories in different countries.
