Abstract
Experimental animals were chickens and chick embryos of the White Leghorn variety (Heisenberg-Nelson-Lohmann HNL) bred in our own animal house. The eggs were incubated in a forced-draught incubator (Ehret) at a temperature of 37.8 ° ± 0.5 °c and a relative humidity of 55%–60%. From incubation day 18 onwards the eggs were transferred to a hatching incubator running at 37.2 °c and a relative humidity of 75%–80%. Only those animals whose time of hatching was determined precisely were used for experiments in the post-hatching period. The age of all animals was measured in days and hours of ontogenesis.
