Zusammenfassung
Zwei neue Gesichtspunkte treten im Bereich der Transplantations-immunologie in den Vordergrund:

1.
Die Netzwerktheorie von Jerne (1), die davon ausgeht, daß die Immunantwort durch ineinandergreifende Funktionen von Helferund Suppressorzellen reguliert wird.

2.
Der Befund, daß die Immunantwort durch Zellen, die das Antigen an bestimmte Lymphocyten weitergegeben (antigen presenting cells), in Gang gebracht wird. Hierzu gehören sowohl die Passenger-Lymphocyten des Spenders im Organtransplantat als auch die Empfängerlymphocyten, die wegen ihrer Organinfiltration zur Abstoßung führen.
