Abstract
Pharmacokinetics is the study of the time course of drug distribution and metabolism in body fluids and tissues [1]. In nuclear medicine, the in vivo behavior of radiodiagnostic agents is often used to indicate an organ’s or organ system’s primary function, for instance, ventilation and perfusion of the lungs or cellular function by measurement of uptake and elimination of a tracer substance. The functional image was introduced as a kinetic parametric analysis method where regional rate constants were portrayed as images of regional function [2–4]. Recently the term functional image has been more widely used to describe other functions, including anatomic motion, perfusion, and ventilation [5–8].
