Abstract
Physical exercise is known to be a situation where even the normal subject may accumulate a high concentration of lactic acid in his working muscle cells, thus creating considerable metabolic acidosis of the blood and of the whole organism. But what type of physical activity is it that depends mainly on anaerobic processes? At what level of work intensity is more lactic acid produced than can immediately be metabolised? And does regular training influence lactic acid accumulation or blood acidosis tolerance?
