Abstract
Parasitic mycoses are the result of infection by a large number of fungi (mycetes) that are pathogenic to man. In invasions by smaller numbers of fungi, the immune response and local defense (saprophytes) of the host will prevent the development of clinical symptoms, and no mycosis will occur.
