A Comparison of the Cardiovascular Effects of Neurolept-, Halothane or Continuous Thoracic Epidural Anaesthesia in Patients Undergoing an Aorto-Femoral Bypass Operation. A Prospective Randomized Study

Neue Aspekte in der Regionalanaesthesie 1

Abstract

Maintaining an adequate perfusion of vital organs is a central problem in the management of anaesthesia in poor risk patients. The first criterion for choosing an anaesthetic method for these patients is that as few changes as possible in the cardiovascular function are produced [11, 12]; the second criterion is that the defence mechanisms mediated via the sympathetic nervous system stay intact.
