Zusammenfassung

Die kontinuierliche Periduralanalgesie zur postoperativen Schmerzbekämpfung bietet gegenüber den herkömmlichen Verfahren folgende Vorzüge:

  1. 1.

    Drastische Reduktion des Verbrauchs an Analgetika (insbesondere Opiate) und Sedativa [2].

  2. 2.

    Senkung der pulmonalen Komplikationsrate durch Vermeidung der postoperativen Hypoventilation (zentrale Atemdepression, Schon-Atmung) [1, 5].

  3. 3.

    Senkung der Nachbelastung des Herzens durch Sympathikolyse [4].

  4. 4.

    Steigerung des Blutflusses im Bereich von Gefäßanastomosen nach Operationen wegen peripherer Durchblutungsstörungen [3].

  5. 5.

    Günstige Beeinflussung der Darmmotilität (Atonie-Prophylaxe).
