Zusammenfassung
Wir haben bereits eine Vielzahl regulierender Faktoren der Proteinbiosynthese kennengelernt und haben auch gesehen, daß die Synthese bereits bei der Blok-kade eines einzigen Schrittes eingestellt wird. Regulation findet auf vielen Ebenen statt, und die meisten sind im Detail noch gar nicht aufgeklärt. Das beginnt bereits bei der Regulation der Synthese der einzelnen Komponenten. In Kapitel 37 sind einige der hierfür erforderlichen Genorte des Escherichia coli-Chromo-soms vorgestellt worden. Die statistische Verteilung über das gesamte Genom weist darauf hin, daß hier nicht ein einfaches Operon vorliegt, das als ganzes ein- oder abgeschaltet wird. Weitere Schwierigkeiten liegen darin, daß die einzelnen Komponenten nicht in gleichen Verhältnissen zueinander benötigt werden. Mit am eindrucksvollsten ist das für die unterschiedlichen tRNS-Klassen und die entsprechenden Amino-acyl-tRNS-Synthetasen zu belegen. Die Aminosäure Tryptophan z.B. ist in Proteinen selten (~ 1,5% aller Aminosäurereste), hingegen ist Glycin häufig (~7,2%).
