Total and Viable Cell Counts

  • Alois Nowotny

Abstract

It is essential for almost all experiments involving cells to count the exact cell number per milliliter suspension. In addition, it is frequently necessary to determine the number of viable cells in a cell suspension. Various procedures are available for this purpose. One of them, described here, requires a hemocyto-meter and a simple microscope.
