Zusammenfassung

Donald Norman studierte am Massachusetts Institute of Technology Elektrotechnik und beendete dieses Studium mit dem Diplom. 1962 promovierte er an der University of Pennsylvania in mathematischer Psychologie. Er verbrachte zwei Jahre als Stipendiat der „National Science Foundation“am „Center for Cognitive Studies“in Harvard und arbeitete bis 1966 als Dozent an der Harvard University. Dr. Norman ist jetzt Vorsitzender der Psychologischen Abteilung der University of California in San Diego, wo er sich mit Studien des semantischen Gedächtnisses und des Denkens beschäftigt. Seine bedeutenden Untersuchungen auf dem Gebiet der menschlichen Informationsverarbeitung, besonders im Bereich des Kurz- und Langzeitgedächtnisses, sind sehr bekannt geworden.
