Abstract
Natural erosion is a universal phenomenon that has persisted through many thousands of years. Deposition of erosion materials, combined with soil-forming processes, has produced much of the valuable farmland throughout the world. Unfortunately, man in his haste to bring such lands under cultivation to meet the food demands of an increasing world population has caused many of these rich soils to deteriorate through uncontrolled erosion.
