Abstract

Both Kurt Rothschild and Josef Steindl, taking the two economists to be honoured in alphabetical order, have shown interest in questions of the theory of the distribution of income and wealth. In this, as in other matters of economic research, neither has shown himself exactly the most fervent apostle of neoclassical assumptions and method. In addition, Josef Steindl is one of the pioneers of the application of stochastic models to economic analysis.
