Abstract

During the last 10 years, a great number of naturally occuring enzyme inhibitors, besides proteinase inhibitors, have been detected. Their existence has often been indicated by yields of more than 100% during the first isolation steps of the enzyme. Thus, the mechanism of inhibition of proteinases in biologic systems is not unique as formerly thought.
