Abstract
The Canine Gastric Mucosa Has A Dense Adrenergic Innervation Which Is Generally Considered To Originate From The Upper Abdominal Sympathetic Ganglia. The Vagus Nerve, However, Also Contains Adrenergic Fibers Which Arise Mainly In The Stellate Ganglion And Are Distributed To The Gut. This Study Was Undertaken To Compare The Relative Effects Of Surgical Excision Of The Celiac (Cg) And The Superior Mesenteric Ganglia (Smg), And The Stellate Ganglia (Sg) Respectively On Gastric Acid Secretion And Adrenergic Innervation Of The Canine Gastric Mucosa.
