Abstract

A strong temperature dependence of the zero energy attachment peak of SF5 - from SF6 was reported earlier [1], This resonance process has an activation energy of 0.2 eV and is interpreted as the result of attachment of near zero energy electrons to those vibrational-rotational states of SF6 0.2 eV or more above the ground state. We therefore anticipated that the zero energy peak can be photo-enhanced if the optical energy can be absorbed into the lower vibrational levels of SF6.
