Abstract
In Sweden cholecystectomy is performed as early as possible after the establishment of disease of the gall-bladder. Around 35 000 cholecystectomies are performed annually. The mean postoperative hospital stay is 8.5 days. To improve the postoperative course after cholecystectomy we have performed three clinical trials.
