Zusammenfassung
Lymphatisches Gewebe weist eine fibrillär-retikuläre Struktur auf, in dessen Netzwerk freie Zellen gefunden werden. Das retikuläre Gitterwerk setzt sich aus retikulären Fasern, Retikulum-Zellen und organständigen Makrophagen zusammen, die einen wesentlichen Anteil des retikulo-histiozytären Systems darstellen. Die Mehrheit der freien Zellen sind Lymphozyten in verschiedenen Stadien der Differenzierung; unter diesen finden sich auch freie Makrophagen und Plasma-Zellen. Zwei Arten von lymphatischem Gewebe kann man unterscheiden:

Lockeres lymphatisches Gewebe vorwiegend mit Retikulum-Zellen und dichtes lymphatisches Gewebe, in dem Lymphozyten überwiegen.

Dichtes lymphatisches Gewebe ist in der Lage, Knoten zu bilden, welche das noduläre lymphatische Gewebe bilden.
